FAQ

WHAT IS HEROIC MEDIA'S MISSION?
Heroic Media is an international faith-based non-profit that utilizes media to connect women with hopeful alternatives to abortion and build a culture of Life.
WHEN WAS HEROIC MEDIA ESTABLISHED?
Heroic Media was founded as Majella Cares in April 2004 in Austin, Texas, with the goal of reducing abortion through mass media education. Our founder had seen it work in other states like Wisconsin, Missouri and Pennsylvania and believed that if women in crisis could learn of hopeful alternatives, they would choose life. Since then, the abortion ratio has dropped as much as 20 percent in markets where our campaigns have consistently run.
WHAT ARE HEROIC MEDIA'S GUIDING VALUES?
Place God first in all we do. Be a blessing to people. Trust God to meet our needs. Strive for Excellence.
WHAT'S THE SIGNIFICANCE OF YOUR NAME?
"Heroic" represents the heroism of motherhood and of our supporters who make sacrifices to support our mission. "Media" encompasses the vehicles through which we reach women in crisis.
WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF HEROIC MEDIA'S COMMERCIALS?
Our advertisements have two goals: 1) provide hopeful, positive solutions to women in crisis pregnancies; 2) shift attitudes to favor Life affirming viewpoints.
WHO IS THE TARGET AUDIENCE FOR HEROIC MEDIA'S MESSAGES?
Our messages focus on women aged 18-34 since most abortions are performed on women in this age group.
WHERE DOES HEROIC MEDIA GET THEIR ADS?
Heroic Media researches, produces and places our messages through a partner advertising agency that shares our values.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SOMEONE CALLS THE ADVERTISED NUMBER?
Heroic Media partners with a 24/7 help line that will refer the caller to life-affirming pregnancy resource centers in her neighborhood. Calls to the help line significantly increase when our commercials air.
WHY DO WE NEED MASS MEDIA TO CREATE A CULTURE OF LIFE?
Research consistently confirms the impact of mass media on buying power and attitudes. Professionally researched, produced and placed media likewise has been shown to change attitudes toward the Life issue. Our messages work because they are research-based, look at the issue from a woman's perspective and provide hopeful solutions. In markets where Heroic Media has consistently run our campaigns, the abortion ratio has dropped as much as 20 percent.
WHERE DOES HEROIC MEDIA GET THEIR FUNDING?
Our primary source of income is from individual donors. We also receive support from churches, organizations and foundations. We do not receive income from government sources.
HOW CAN I HELP?
Thank you for your interest in helping women and babies in crisis! You can help in several ways: introducing us to friends and family, praying for us, and sharing your time, talent and treasure.
